Hidden gem in Houston but definitely a must try spot. Whether it's for lunch or dinner, their tortas are made to order and flavorful. I was a little intimidated by the reviews I saw beforehand but I'm glad I didn't let it deter me to stop by and try their tortas. We were in the area for Christmas lights and the owner was very friendly and patient when explaining the menu. He made some recommendations and didn't rush us to order at all.
Very authentic and fresh made. I love their bread. The portion is pretty good. It is a cozy location with 20 table or top table and very friendly service.
Nut allergy friendly, none in sight here. This place is like the Lexus of tortas. The food is a 5/5 quick meal but I would say a 4/5 on price. Paying $12 for a torta seems criminal, even if the torta is filled with great ingredients and fluffy yet light bread. Nice that chips are included. Weird that water seems to be an extra charge. I had the Nortena and it was a great torta, but considering I can get a torta for half the price at some other local places, difficult to say if I'd come back regularly. 100% would take someone coming to try an authentic torta.
Torta was delicious and reasonably priced. Will return again. Live in Oak Forest but don't mind the trip because this was very tasty.
Got the super cubano to go and it was big and chock full of ingredients. I love tortas and always got them homemade from a Mexican coworker of mine so I was curious to see how a restaurant one would compare. It was pricey for a sandwich but it was delicious and the bread was super soft. The small chipotle sauce that came with it definitely wasn't enough to cover the whole sandwich (barely enough for half) but it added a good kick of flavor.
